Who We Are

We are volunteers (retirees, church and group groups, student and youth
groups, families and/or individuals) making a difference by growing food for
people who don’t have access to an adequate food supply.
Mission: We help feed the hungry in the Madison (WI) area by
providing food pantries with fresh, nutritious vegetables.
We annually raise about 100,000 lbs of produce in six gardens at five locations.
You are invited to be one of the volunteers who plant, weed, and harvest the
seven acres we garden. Each hour of volunteer work results in 50 lbs of fresh
produce. Three of the gardens are named after the owners who generously
provide the land.
Lacy Garden is coordinated by Thomas Parslow. Produce from this garden goes to the St. Vincent de Paul Food pantry.
Hershberger Gardens The North site is coordinated by Phil Cox. Produce is delivered to the Community Action Coalition (CAC) and the Second Harvest  Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.
The South site (next to the road and barn) is coordinated by Dick Reynolds and Laura Green. Produce is delivered to the Catholic Multicultural Center to supply  its food pantry and meal program. Produce not needed by CMC will be delivered  to CAC or Second Harvest Foodbank.
Malmquist Garden is coordinated by Emmett Schulte. Produce from this
garden will be delivered to the Community Action Coalition (CAC) and the
Second Harvest Foodbank.
Other sites include the Blackhawk Garden coordinated by Alex Butz. This
produce is delivered to CAC. Randy Weinke grows one acre of squash on his
property near Brooklyn; this produce is delivered to St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry.
